Community Support and Involvement
Southern Management believes so strongly in Community Involvement and Support that we include it in our Mission Statement . . . Our Purpose is “To Provide Quality Service to our Customers and be Supportive to our Community”.
We’re not just employees at Southern Management
. . . we’re family and our family includes not only our staff members but our community as well. Our corporate office and our district offices participate in a variety of community projects. We assist when we can whether it is through our guidance, our leadership, our example or our helping hands – we want to serve.
Volunteers participate in local walks supporting the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis and other similar events. Some of our team members offer time and energy building strength and providing leadership skills to our local youth. Boy Scouts of America, Learning for Life and the Red Cross are just a few of the organizations we support.
Recognizing safety as a top priority in our business and our personal environments, some of our staff volunteer at local fire departments. Whether as part of the actual fire fighting team or as instructors advising parents and particularly children of proper safety procedures and techniques, we are role models who stress safety. From informative puppet shows for the youngsters, to practicing fire drills for the young adults, to actual fire fighting and rescue operations, we spread the word about fire prevention and safety.
The holidays are special times for family and friends and Southern Management considers it a privilege to assist families in need. Whether for a single parent with children, for the elderly, or for a family going through difficult times – we donate, wrap and deliver gifts, we contribute food and necessity items and we help with gift cards and gift certificates.
We enjoy bringing smiles to the faces of others . . . we travel across state lines with supplies and materials to help those struck with unfortunate disasters. We work together to put the roof back on a home, we rebuild the walls and chimney of a community church, and we cook and serve hot meals and open our hearts to our local families who wait anxiously in the intensive care waiting room at our hospitals. Coaching a Little League baseball team, volunteering at schools and hospitals, providing physical labor and offering warm smiles are all part of Southern Management’s philosophy.
