Our Approach

Standardization

Southern Management understands the value of uniformity and takes company-wide standardization to a level rarely seen in our industry. Standardization of chemicals, equipment, methods and training is the cornerstone of our success. It allows us to provide consistent results for you with every action, every time.

Chemicals

Southern Management’s cleaning products are formulated to achieve maximum cleaning effectiveness while at the same time exceeding environmental and safety requirements. Our inventory of approved cleaning products is standardized and their usage is strictly enforced at all our cleaning sites nationwide.

Our standardized chemical program results in several benefits to you, including:

  • Decreased training time for new and/or replacement service workers due to the easy-to-recognize color-coded labeling.
  • Reduced possibility of property damage due to improper use or confusion.
  • Cleaner, healthier environment for occupants and visitors of your facilities.

The cleaning products we use exceed the requirements of all EPA and OSHA government regulations. The labeling system of our products is also unique. Because of the diverse range of languages spoken and understood by our service workers, our color-coded chemical products and instructions make following our processes easy.

Material Safety and Data Sheets are readily available in English and Spanish at each job site to employees and to you. Our manufacturing partners have instituted their own quality assurance programs to ensure these products meet design specifications and are labeled to meet the strictest standards for label content and warnings.

All employees receive mandatory training on chemical usage during orientation. Supervisors verify employee knowledge of proper usage, continuously monitoring and reinstructing as necessary. Technical assistance is available 24 hours a day for product use, application and procedures inquiries.

Equipment

Consistent with our “process-focused” philosophy, Southern Management has standardized the equipment used by our service workers. Standardization of equipment provides several key advantages to our customers including:

  • Increased safety because our employees are thoroughly trained and familiar with the equipment.
  • More efficient standardized training because we limit the types of equipment used.
  • Higher quality levels because equipment use is maximized.
  • Reduced repair time and therefore reduced equipment downtime.
  • Internal technical support and training with over 30 years of experience.

Methods

Maximizing the benefits of the equipment and chemicals used in our work processes required our development of standard cleaning techniques. Our cleaning procedures guarantee that our equipment and chemicals perform to their maximum capabilities at every facility.

We’ve developed manuals and programs that include detailed instructions and systematic procedures for all services we provide. Every employee receives training in our cleaning procedures, and we enforce those procedures at every site we clean.

Training

Southern Management is dedicated to the education and development of our staff. We recognize that one of the key factors to our success lies in our ability to fully develop the potential of our workforce. We have developed and implemented numerous programs to address the needs of not only our entry-level and middle management employees but also those included in our senior leadership team. Our training begins on the first day of employment and continues until retirement.

To facilitate our organization in realizing the goals we’ve set, a significant investment has been made in both program development and the creation of an innovative training division to support our operations. Our training division and our corporate training center is based in Rossville, Georgia just minutes away from Chattanooga, Tennessee. All employees receive mandatory and on-going training to ensure standardized, proper chemical equipment and usage. This includes offering training materials in both English and Spanish.
